Local School Seeks Headteacher With GSOH For LTR

A primary school in England has placed a ‘lonely hearts’ style ad in its search for a new headteacher.

Parents are amused, creeped out by the ad.

Parents are amused, creeped out by the ad.

Staff at the school, which teaches 4 to 11-year-old children, had been unsuccessful in their previous, more legitimate attempts to find a new headmaster, so decided, in the manner of a lonely, middle-aged divorcee, to place a personal ad.

The school described itself as “enthusiastic, happy, keen to learn”, and is looking for applicants who have “GSOH, energy and vision.”

Potential applicants are warned that the photos provided were taked before the school had any children.

Killer Trampolines Inflicting Tens Of Boo-Boos On Children Everywhere

Injury experts are warning that trampoline-related injuries could bounce into the stratosphere this year, inflicting owies on tens of innocent children in the process.

An ideal scenario for man's natural enemy: the trampoline

Trampolines are bouncy.

Medics have reported seeing a catastrophic increase in the number of children being admitted to hospitals with injuries caused by the springy death machines, with one Scottish hospital having treated over 50 potentially fun-threatening injuries in the past six weeks.

A representative of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has warned that people must not allow themselves to be afraid of having bouncy-fun-time, but should instead ensure that the equipment is correctly installed, and that only one person takes on the trampoline at a time.

That’s The Way The Cookie Crumbles: Ex-Girl Scout Boss To Repay Stolen Dough

Cookies: the theft took a big bite out of the scouts profits.

Cookies: the theft took a big bite out of the scout's profits.

A former Ohio Girl Scout leader is to repay the scout organisation $20,000 in indemnity for stealing money earned in cookie sales by girl scouts and using it on personal expenses such as holidays and shopping.

The prosecution claimed the woman had access to the bank account used to deposit sales revenue that was to be used for the scout’s leisure activities.

The woman entered a guilty plea last month to grand theft.

Poor Attention Span in Pre-School ‘Predicts Lower Highschool..’ Oooh SHINY!

Culprit. This innocent-looking tap could cause your child to become a failure.

Culprit. This innocent-looking tap could cause your child to become a failure.

Children who have a poor attention span as early as kindergarten are more likely to score lower grades in high school, according to a study by UC Davis published yesterday.

Lead study author Joshua Breslau detailed the findings,

In our study, a child’s inability to pay attention when they start school had the strongest negative effect on how they performed at the end of high school — regardless of their IQ.

He emphasised that the results of the study could be used to prevent children at an early age from a “downward spiral of failure”. The results showed that poor focus in kindergarten was the only factor that consistently predicted poor results in English and math tests during highschool.

Some scientists have suggested that distractions such as television and digital music players in the home could also translate into inattentiveness outside the home, but the obvious solution is to ban shiny or pretty objects from all classrooms.

OMG!!! French Tweens to Freak Out Over School Phone Ban

Kds r lyk ttly bumd by th nws :(

Kds r lyk ttly bumd by th nws :(

In new measures laid out by the French government, mobile phones are to be prohibited in French Primary Schools and operators will be required to offer phones that can only send and receive text messages.

The new plans have been laid out as a result of a six-week review of mobile phone radiation in an attempt to reduce health risks posed to children by electromagnetic radiation.

The precautionary action has been deemed insufficient by campaign groups who wanted a total ban on mobile phones for under-14s and stricter rules on transmitter masts. However, the government declined to implement such restrictings owing to a lack of evidence of their potential harmfulness to children.

The schoolchildren did not answer calls for comment.
